Gary & Judith

October 16th, 2009

Gary and judith were married on Saturday 22nd August 2009 at Granton Baptist Church with the Reception and wedding breakfast at The Victoria Park Hotel on ferry Road, Edinburgh.
Judith is originally from Milawi and I have to say looked stunning in her beautiful dress. Gary wore his kilt with pride and had two best men……who I have to say did a fantastic job on the day. Guests enjoyed the day, with glorious sunshine and not a cloud in the sky – perfect!

Kirsty & James

August 4th, 2009

Kirsty & James were married at St Leonard’s Hall, Pollock Hall’s at Edinburgh University on Saturday 1st August 2009. Kirsty arrived and looked beautiful, her Dad looked very proud indeed! As Kirsty walked up the aisle, James looked very happy and proud to see his bride to be.
After the ceremony it was outside for photographs, we had fantastic weather and the front of St Leonard’s Hall is a fabulous backdrop for photographs. As we were taking the photographs a bus load of Pipers and Drummers arrived from their Tattoo rehearsals, I asked the Pipe Major if there was a chance of “borrowing” a piper for the photographs, one Piper was volunteered. What we didn’t expect was the remainder of the Pipe Band to start playing a medley of tunes that would grace any occasion. A very big thank you to The Royal Canadian Legion, Hamilton, Ontario branch for their kindness and adding a wee bit of fun to Kirsty & James’s big day!
A big thank you to all the staff from Edinburgh First at Edinburgh University for making me very welcome.
Kirsty and James, have a great life together and thank you for using Wedding Photos Edinburgh.

Jill & Colin

August 4th, 2009

Jill & Colin 341

Jill Henderson & Colin Ferguson were married at the Brucefield Church, Whitburn on Friday, 31st July 2009. Jill asked for photographs at home with the hair and make up being carried out on all concerned! Then off to church and then to the Hilcroft Hotel for the Wedding breakfast and Reception. The weather held out until we got to the hotel, then unfortunately the heaven’s opened. We still managed to get some fantastic shots, some formal, some relaxed and some of people just having fun. I have to thank the “3 Margaret’s” at Reception at the Hilcroft for their help during the whole day, it was greatly appreciated. I also have to say a big thank you to the wedding party and all the guests for just being themselves and having great fun during the photographs, it does make my life much easier and it made a special day, very special indeed!
I would also like to wish Jill & Colin all the very best for their future together and hope they enjoy their Hawaii honeymoon.

Nicola & Robert

July 27th, 2009

Nicola & Robert 378

Nicola & Robert were married on Saturday 25th July 2009 and had a fantastic day at the Stair Arms Hotel just outside Pathead near Edinburgh. After a wee problem with the car Nicola turned up fashionably early! Nicola looked stunning and I have to compliment her four bridesmaids for making sure her big day started off well. On arrival at the Stair Arms, Nicola was serenaded to over 100 motorbikes going past sounding some very “continental” horns and big waves from the riders and their passengers! Inside the Hotel, Robert constantly told everyone he wasn’t nervous in the slightest….. I may have a few photographs that prove otherwise, but that’s another story :-)
The ceremony was conducted beautifully by the Registrar and then out into the grounds for champagne and photographs. A big thank you to all the staff for their help on the day, service was excellent and the bar staff were kept busy, I think the hot day helped drive up sales.
Photographs from the day can be seen at www.photoboxgallery.com/weddingphotosedinburgh
Robert & Nicola, very best wishes to you and your family and thank you for booking with Wedding Photos Edinburgh.

Laura & Russell

July 19th, 2009

Laura Robb & Russell Murray were married on Saturday 18th July 2009 at Lothian Chambers and held their wedding breakfast at the Carlton Hotel on North Bridge Edinburgh. The wedding was attended by around 70 guests and I think everyone would agree that Laura looked stunning in her dress, Russell looked great in his kilt too.
After the ceremony we took some photographs in Lothian Chambers and then Parliament Square. The remainder of the guests then made their way to the Carlton while Laura, Russell and myself were mobbed by tourists wanting to get in on the couple’s big day! Luckily for the tourists, Laura & Russell were more than happy to “pose” for a few shots. Not very often do you meet characters like Jack Sparrow, but at this time of year, Edinburgh is just full of “stars”. Jack Sparrow very kindly posed for a shot with the happy couple. Good luck to Jack on collecting enough money to get him to the Caribbean.
I have to mention Lin and the team at the Carlton, thery were spot on with ‘dressing the room’ and the meal and service were first class. A big thank you from me to Laura and Russell for “feeding” me, I thoroughly enjoyed it. :-)
Laura and Russell, you had a great bunch of familly and friends who made me feel very welcome, please thank them for me. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the evening and I’ll hear from you soon regarding the photographs for the album.
Best wishes to you both for the future.

Joanne & Bogdan

July 12th, 2009

Saturday 11th July 2009 was a long awaited day for Joanne & Bogdan, their first wedding date had to be cancelled due to “red tape”!
But what fantastic weather they had for their big day, sunshine all day, beautiful bride, handsome groom and family and friends enjoying the day with them. A big thank you has to go to all concerned in making their day happen. Morag at “The Victoria Park Hotel” on Ferry Road, Edinburgh was fantastic as were her staff, ensuring the Bride and Groom’s every need was met. The Wedding Breakfast set up was lovely with purple balloon arch over the wedding cake. Photographs were taken in the front garden and also at the Royal Botanic Gardens. A Video of the day was also being made by “Armchair Theatre” – take a look at the web site for ideas, I’m really looking forward to seeing this one.

Valerie & Shane

July 4th, 2009

Valerie & Shane were married at the Marriott Hotel in Edinburgh on Thursday 2nd July 2009. The wedding was a small intimate affair with close family and friends. Valerie & Shane are from Northern Ireland and had a glorious day for their wedding, the weather could not have been better, glorious sunshine with a light cooling breeze.
After the ceremony, we headed for Arthurs Seat in a limousine from  http://www.a2blimousines.com I have to thank Cameron the driver for taking us to some great locations for photographs and we all managed to dodge the ducks and seaguls!
Then back to the hotel for the Wedding breakfast.

Come Dine With Me!

June 20th, 2009

Andrea & Simon 301 copy

One to watch out for – Andrea Thornhill, a bride from a couple of years ago will be filming Chanel 4’s “Come Dine With Me” in the next couple of weeks and it will be shown in the Autumn.
Andrea needed clearance for her photographs to be used by chanel 4, so she contacted me for confirmation.
I’m looking forward to it as it is one of the shows that I can sit down to and relax!
Good luck to Andrea, I do hope you win the £1,000.00 on offer to the winner.

Sancha & Craig’s Wedding Day

June 14th, 2009

Sancha & Craig were married at Dunnottar Castle, just two miles south of Stonehaven. An absolutely breathtaking venue that I haven’t been to before but I would go again to at any time! Sancha & Craig’s wedding was organised beautifully by “Highland Country Weddings” who I have to say just put that extra wee bit of effort in to make the day special! On hand for Sancha & Craig and the rest of the wedding party was Jackie Goode from “HCW” who managed to bring along some smoked salmon, champagne, strawberries and nibbles……….what more could you have asked for in a romantic castle setting? The ceremony was conducted by Cressida Coates who made the couple very relaxed and I have to say that it was conducted superbly, very romantic and emotional. The weather could have been kinder, although in between the showers torrential downpours, we had glorious sunshine which gave us the chance of getting some wonderful photographs that I’m sure everyone will have very happy memories of. Sancha and Craig live in Australia and although Sancha is originally from England, they were heading back to Australia the following day. it was a small wedding party of 8 people but I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Sancha was stunning in her dress and Craig sported his kilt with pride. Both Sancha and Craig were great fun and we had a laugh taking some “fun” shots and of course the obligitory “formal” shots too. After the ceremony we headed to Raemoir House Hotel in Banchory, where all the staff were superb and made us feel very welcome indeed (thank you for the pot of tea – greatly appreciated) and the House and beautifully manicured gardens made a fantastic back drop for the photographs. We did the cake cutting and I have to say that Fiona from “Cakes by Fiona”  made a fantastic job of it and in a very Scottish theme! A big thank you to all involved in making Sancha & Craig’s day go so well, a safe journey home to you, your family and friends and hope to hear from Sancha & Craig soon. Enjoy the slide show!

Laura & Pauls Wedding

June 7th, 2009

Laura Pearce & Paul Atkins were married at Kirknewton Stables just on the outskirts of Edinburgh on Saturday 6th June 2009. The weather was a bit overcast with rain at times but of course perfect when the Bride arrived! The wedding was held outside under some beatiful trees, Laura looked stunning in her gown and to be fair, Paul looked extremely smart in his grooms outfit. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony which was a Humanist Ceremony and I have to say, was conducted very sincerely. Just after the ceremony and after the initial photographs were taken we were occaisionally running for cover when the rain came on!
Kirknewton stables is a wonderful small venue and the staff from Kirknewton House and catering staff from Annabelle’s were excellent and looked after the Bridal Party and their guests extremely well. Take a look at the web site http://www.kirknewtonestate.co.uk/index.htm
A very enjoyable day, thank you to Paul & Laura for inviting me to be a part of their big day.
